Neskowin, Oregon: Tall, petrified stumps from a drowned primeval stand of hemlock, cedar, and sitka spruce. The ocean claimed this old growth forest on Jan 26, 1700 after an estimated 9.0 earthquake rocked the Pacific Northwest Coast.
